Evangelia (Eva) earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Crete, Greece, specialising in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in immunology and inflammation, which led her to pursue several research internships in molecular and cancer biology.
She has gained research experience at IMBB–FORTH in Crete, the Institute for Cancer Research in Oslo, and Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, where she was awarded a stipend for her research internship. Her work has focused on cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in cancer and inflammation.
Since completing her undergraduate degree in 2023, Evangelia has continued her academic path in Sweden, pursuing a Master’s degree in Translational Physiology and Pharmacology at Karolinska Institutet. Alongside her studies, she worked part-time at the Chemical Biology Consortium Sweden (CBCS), contributing to drug screening projects. Her research interests include immunology, inflammation, and cancer biology, with a growing focus on translational approaches to immune modulation and drug discovery. She joined Vacara AB in November and will continue working on her research projects and Master’s thesis there.
